Wish Wear Of The Week

From the tippity top of her ombre-colored tresses (seriously, so so cool!) down to the much-lusted-after Jeffrey Campbell's buckled to her feet, Ms. Tieka has most definitely got the outfit I most wish I was wearing this very second.*

*And you have no idea how badly I desperately want to be able to tell other people that I'm a spelunker too.

Well, it is tight and laced and, oh yes, I want to wear it!

But isn't this just the prettiest little thing you've ever seen?!

I can see it now gettin' all chunked out with layers upon layers of big, gold necklaces dripping down its front and tucked into and paired with silkified trousers (like in the article here) oxfords and a rough, worn-in denim jacket.

And all that for only $34.00.  Yowza.

Back In The Day

Back in my visual merchandising days (what a chore to have to play dress-up on a daily basis - ha!) when I'd get my hands on determining yet another mannequin's lavishly layered outfit, I always left my own little signature in the window by finding a jeweled piece (well, alright ... a lot of pieces) to pin onto a jacket, blazer, cardi or sweater (my gem of choice? clip-on earrings - they look fan-freakin'-tastic all clustered up on collars and lapels, every time) so when I saw that Jane and her mama had done the same thing so fabulously well here with the above J. Crew Fall ensemble as inspiration, it all came rushing right back (as well as the rather urgent need to go out and snatch up as many brooches, pins and earrings as I can possibly find!)

I'm not usually one to go for the reality star's and their collections, but Whitney Port is just so gosh darn cute and girlie girl with her style that I couldn't resist posting about her  ... and she has a killer personal collection of perfectly mismatch-y jackets (the black and white striped stunner up there?  Yes, please!) that I'd like to borrow for possible permanent residence in my closet if we were to ever meet.  What?  I'd ask super nicely, of course.

Back To Basics

After years of reading countless editors urging me to do so, I finally did.  I hunkered down and bought a 5-Pack of Hanes Boys' white tagless tees (alright, undershirts) for just a little less than 9 dollars that I proudly wear as outershirts with chunky gold necklaces and bow-adorned linen pants and that I also fully intend on belting the crud out of and dressing down my dressiest of dresses with too.

I'm even considering rotating through them for my entire week's wardrobe.  What?  Boys do it all the time, so why can't I?

It's the first line (ever) where I have literally wanted one of every earring and necklace to dangle from me and there is just nothing prettier, in my humble opinion, than something gracefully brushing the collarbone.

I've had my share of little girl visions of a bun plopped atop my head, poufy tutus and white tights before (remember, I am the girl that for the first few years of her life donned nothing but a perfectly pretty powder blue cap-sleeved leotard with everything I'd wear) but now that I'm a little older, I thought this (on sale) pair of Neo Ballerina Flats from Puma (in blue, naturally) might do the trick and put a much more modern spin on my now grown-up visions ...

The Fabulous Bargain Boys

Today's steals and deals story, boys and girls, starts with two bargain bros: Clark and Owen Fuller.
