Puttin' A Face To The Name

Ban.do Interview from The Girls With Glasses on Vimeo.

So these are the headband gurus behind ban.do. Seeing this lil' chitty chat just makes it all the more concrete as to how much I wish all four of these glassy-eyed girls were in my own gaggle of accessory-wearin' friends. Too cute. Especially you, hot pink-collared dress lady. You know, so I could maybe borrow it, then forget to give it back and stuff ... but you'd forgive me 'cause that's what fab-frocked friends do and stuff ...

Padded Sell

I'm ready for Autumn.  I am.  I'm ready for my wardrobe staples of sweaters and cardis to come out and play.  To take center stage.  No more hiding in the back of my closet 'cause the sun is currently shinin' and hoggin' it all.  Selfish little sunshine.  And to show them just how ready (and serious) I am about this whole needin'-the-season-to-change, I think I'm gonna get me some shell horn shoulder pads to accentuate 'em so they can finally have the spotlight shinin' on them again.  Yeah.

Heartache

My heart hurts.  I've lost something, someone, that I know I will never have or find again so ... my heart hurts.  There are so many things I wish I could say to that special someone today as I go and celebrate the precious time we did have together (like this speech, word for word) but I fear the tears will fall instead.  Because today, today, my heart hurts.

This song is for that someone.

Closet Confidential

I like to think that I know my style self pretty well and that I'm pretty darn satisfied by what I see hanging on my closet's rail on a daily basis.  But now I'm not so sure.  Because of the confectionary confines of Ms. Ashley's closet.  Wonder if she'd ever like to trade style spaces with a can-never-have-too-many-creamy-dreamy-blouses girlie girl like me?

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Rollin' rollin' rollin' ... keep them buns a-rollin',  Hairguide!  When I came across Refinery 29's The Month of Hair calendar, and this bunned beauty, well ... I knew my (almost) famous bobby pin collection - three whole sets and counting - would finally have its time to shine.  See.  I've bunned before.  In the front and in the back.  But never at the same time.  How genius is this?!  And it goes perfectly with my dark dirty blonde here, bright brassy blonde there current haircolor(s) too!  Guess I best be gettin' down to some honest day's bun-rollin' work, huh?  Rollin' rollin' rollin' ... keep them buns a-rollin', Hairguide!

Brace Yourself

You would think that by having what I believe to be the world's smallest wrists - really, I should measure 'em some time - that it would somehow deter me from putting on every single bangle that my eyes can see in any all all accessory departments I come in contact with.  But it doesn't.  Not even a little bit.  So it's nice to see that I'm at least keepin' up with the jewelry joneses by having this particular(ly) pilin' little tick o'mine.

Wonder Woman

Is it really so bad to like a certain look or, say, an entire fall collection for the I-want-'em-so-bad-I-can-barely-breathe shoes only?  Or is it just that it really is true that the right accessories (and in this particular blogging case, shoes) really can and do make the wardrobin' wonder woman?  Hm.  I wonder wonder wonder ...

A Wink To Pink

Isn't she pretty in her little wink to pink?  Sometimes I fear stepping out of my black, white and grey clothes-colored world would be too too much for this little bargain blogger to bear.  But this, this teeny tiny pop of pink?  Well ... I think even I could handle.  Especially the ruffled part.

Bringin' Woolly Back

There's nothing I love more than using my little blogging platform for a good cause.  And when it comes in the fashion-y form of a global street style competition?  Well ... that's just icing on my proverbial fashion cake, ya know?  Today's tasty treat comes to us by the folks over at Fashion by Feelings, who along with Facebook, are bringin' woolly back - yeah! - them others guys don't know how to baa - yeah!  (Sorry, couldn't resist)  With feeling(s).

Baaack to this point's post.  (That's the last one.  I promise.  Maybe.)  Style savvy users (and pun-addicted blog posters alike) are encouraged to post and then vote on their favorite wool-ifed looks in one of twelve 'Feelings' categories.  ('Powerful' and 'nostalgic' being my two personal faves.)  And the most 'loved' look?  Well ... their prize is a (AUD) $12,000 holiday and wool experience.  What all does a 'wool experience include'?  I don't know, but I know I want it.   Oh.  And get this.  The public can vote too.  Bonus to that?  Voters are automatically entered into a weekly drawing to win an 'Emu Australia' wool prize pack worth $400 (AUD)!

So if the comfy-cozy benefits of wool aren't enough for you after watching this video, then how 'bout this: Kinda gives new meaning - and a really, really good reason - to 'pull(ing) the wool over your eyes,' don't it?  And if that's still not enough, then if wool wasn't where it's at, then a style icon, a fashion god, like Mr. Karl Lamberfeld up there sure wouldn't be on board with it, would he now?  So go.  Go on, go out there and start bringin' woolly back!  (Yeah!)

Kiss 'N' Sell

Found my lipstick-lovin' sister from another mister.  But she takes it to a whole new, way-cooler-than-I-ever-could level.  Because she literally kisses them into one-of-a-kind works of art.  Uh-huh.  That's what I said.  See what I mean here, and watch and learn, people.  Watch and learn.

Rat A Tat Tat

Well hello there, coolest and most genius tattoo EVER ... how you doin'?  It's funny, but all of the sudden, I am feeling very patriotic and very proud to be an American ... so much so that I think I'd like to get my own ankle-y ink that would read: 'Made in the U.S. of A.'  Oh yeah.

Going Going Gone

Summer is packin' up and gettin' outta dodge pretty soon here to make way for her chillier cousins' arrival(s) so I'm a bit fashion-ly forlorn to the fact that I never got around to wearing (or buying) Nadinoo's tie blouse.  Oh well.  Luckily I still have a little time to save up and make this particular purchase.  Phew.  Just means when I finally do, I'll be layering it up 'til summer shows its easy breezy face 'round these parts again.  A small style sacrifice I am so willing to make.

Quick Question

Have I ever mentioned my complete and utter longing to go back and color my hair (brows too) a super silvery, almost white platinum-y shade again?  Huh?  What?  Oh, I have??  *Blushing*  Then let's pretend I didn't just reiterate that particular point for, like, the umpteenth time in this post, mkay?  Thank you.  Thankyouverymuch.

Branching Out

From one top bun-wearer to another (so silly how excited I am to count myself a member of that particular coif club): Um, hi.  Could you and your easy peasy, branch bauble hanger-makin' video self be any cuter?  I think not.  Seriously.  Just.  Not.  Possible.  Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some branch-pickin' of my own to do because, well, we bun pals gotta stick together.  In all accessory endeavors.  Them's the rules.

The Canvassers

These make me hearken back to a time when a simple, on-sale pair of white canvas Vans-esque shoes were purchased (along with a big ol' black magic marker) for the sole purpose being to cover them in quotes and words and such for my chic little clothing counterpart.  Which we totally did.  100% successfully, I might add.  Hmm.  Makes me wonder how much moolah could have possibly been made had we only started selling them ...

Same Old Story

Well what do we have here?  Oh, you know, just another head-to-toe outfit I've become completely obsessed enamored with at the sight of because it happens to sport my quickly-becoming-all-time-favorite-accessory-pairing of an ankle sock and pretty little heel.  No big thang ...

Anywhere But Here

If I close my eyes real real tight-like (with no peeking) I can almost smell the sunscreen I'd be slathering on while wearing something akin to the red polka-dotted bikini above on the - and I quote - "Jurassic Park-esque-looking" island(s) of Hawaii while sitting next to my already-there sister.  Lucky duck.

In Stitches

I'm admittedly the world's worst sewer.  For real.  I could only sew a button onto something if there was a gun pointed to my head.  I'm that bad.  So to say I live in fear of those three little letters D-I-Y would be the understatement of the century for me.  But when I saw this freakin' adorable (and what looks to be - dare I say it - fun and easy) fedora project, my fears melted ... err ... thawed a tiny bit, making me want to try it.  Because all I can envision now are three new little letters that could possibly be emblazoned across the front of it: B-E-X.  Yeah.

Earning My Stripes

I thought I had given up on the whole grown-up-gals-wearing-overalls thing ages ago.  But after spotting the shorted pair above, I think I was wrong in doing so.  They've got a whole sailor striper-ish vibe that I can totally see myself getting on board with, so to speak, and being paired with a little ankle boot here and a white racerback tank there.  Uh-huh.  Yep.  Cute.  Cute.  Cute.

Caped Crusader

I've got it.  Now that I've found the quintessential girliest-of-girlie cape(let)s, I know exactly what kind of superhero I'd (dress up to) be.  With my rolls-off-the-tongue, alliteration-filled alias of Bargain Bex already set in stone ... all that'd be left to do is the whole saving-the-wardrobing-world thing one bargain-y (blogging) buy at a time ... come to think of it, I could use all the help I can get - anybody wanna be my stylin' sidekick?

Brown Noser

Are these boots not the prettiest, loveliest, most perfect boots ever in the whole history of the world?!?  Gosh.  It sounds like I should really just ... wait ... gotta see if I can pull some dough outta my pocket to make these mine ... dang.  Dang it.  Dang it all to ... well ... I think it's pretty obvious I don't have enough benjamins for these booted beauties.  Man.  Hey!  I know.  Why don't one of you other size nine-wearing ladies out there do me a solid and pick 'em up so I can know that they are at least going to a good home?  Please?  Pretty please?  Pretty pretty please?

Motherpluckers

Oh me oh my ... it seems as if the Fossil team went right down deep inside me ol' brain whilst I was sleeping one night and plucked exactly (like, down to the hosiery, people) just what I wish to wear come Fall.  And maybe even what my pretty, pretty pretend boyfriend would just so happen to be wearing too alongside perfectly-accessorized little me ...

Ulta The Ultimate

I walked into Ulta for the first time last week and the angels sang.  No, but, I was completely jaw-droppingly floored by what I saw inside.  Never again will I have to online-only order my beloved NYX (check out my eyes a-sparklin', thanks to this) or trek it to the nearest department store for an of-the-moment skin or hair care line(s) fix.  Nope.  Because it's all under this one, incredibly well-organized and convenient roof.  I'd bow down right now to further illustrate my point, but I think you get the idea.  Ulta, you really are the ultimate.

Thou Shalt Not Covet

I know, I know.  But I am.  I so am.  I mean, look at that dress!  From the fantastically floppy hat and neon yellow bowed string down to the perfect color complement of lilac-y ankle socks and neutral pulling-it-all-together wedges.  Gah!  I want it.  I really, really, really want it.  A lot.  A whole lot.  So much so ... I'm starting to agree that an itty bitty, teeny weeny amount of (garb) greed can be good ...

Heeled By Hypnosis

Hypnotized.  Completely and utterly hypnotized by all the golden sparkles shimmering and shining upon the heels of that beauty of a shoe.  I even think it's safe to say that I've never ever seen anything more beautiful in my thirty one years of (a) sole-searching  life.  And that's the truth.  Alas, I don't believe my bargain budget could handle the heftiness attached to their particular price tag, so I won't be able to pet take them home with me any time soon ... so I'll just have to fill my glitter quotient by wearing these pretties instead.  A fine and very honorable, very acceptable second pair choice indeed, methinks.

Flowers In Her Hair

Now that I'm finally able to finagle my hair into a sweet bun atop my head, I'm constantly on the lookout for the next pretty little accessory I can pop on top of it to accentuate it even more.  So when My Diva's Closet contacted me saying they'd like to gift me my very own silky flower hair clip, I was ecstatic!  I got right down to picking-and-choosing business and selected The Pale Cream Gardenia.  And what do ya know ... it's a perfect fit for me and my bun.  Yes!  And, as if my goes-with-everything gardenia wasn't enough, they also very kindly included a you'd-never-know-it-wasn't-real pretty pink rose:

Ta da!  Purdy, no?  So, without a doubt, My Diva's Closet most definitely gets this bargain blogger's seal of approval when it comes to me and my it's-about-time bun-worthy locks ... and I can absolutely, 100% guarantee I'll be showing off all the more now with my pretty pretty pink and white flowers in my hair.  Go now and check 'em out to find your own gorgeous garden to plant atop your head o' hair.  Oh.  And let's show 'em some love over on their Facebook and Twitter pages too.  Just 'cause we're nice like that.

The Big Bag Theory

I can almost always be seen lugging around a very large - verging on humongous - purse around town because, for some reason, I feel it's as if it is silently egging me on, daring me to see just how many more tubes of lipstick I could possibly fit into it before I fall over.  Last count was .... umm ... about ten.  What?  I like that lipstick-y stuff.  But enough's enough.  I've decided to finally minimize my bag size and go much, much smaller and clutch-like.  With Mademoiselle Bagatelles' baggies.  The only problem?  I fear I may start collecting as many of these little lovelies as I have lipsticks ...

Wed To Red

I'd marry the color red if I could, I love it so.  For all its many attractive qualities and forms from loverly lipsticks and hair-dying shades to stylistic(ally) and sartorially speaking.  I think we'd make one deliriously happy and darn good-looking couple.  That is, as far as the union between a living thing and an inanimate object could/can go ...

Supporting Role

I don't need much extra - if any - support when it comes to lingerie-ish (under) things like push-ups, underwires or extra strappage.  I'm a little on the small side, remember ... but that certainly doesn't mean that I don't want at least some support when it comes to wanting to look just as fancy-frilly as those that do have/need a little extra ... which is precisely why I intend on adding TLO's latest sexy set to my own boudoir's bust-haves.  Because I (and you) deserve all the support we can get ...

Blogging The Mind

Blogger's Wardrobe wants to know why bargain-clothed, looks-for-less-obsessed babblin' little me should be part of their click-worthy wardrobe revolution.  Two words: Bex appeal.

Lashed Triers

The fine folks over at Lingerie Please were kind enough to gift me with not one, but two pairs of fabulously feathered and fringed faux lashes to which immediatly after seeing them, became more than apparent that I'd have to enlist the modeling prowess of a certain and fellow fashion lover to wear while being snapped in them this past weekend.  (Thanks, C.  You're the bestest.)

We went for two completely different looks during our photo session to try and capture the individual coolness of each lash.  The first look is all about the pattern-on-pattern play of the stripe-y highlights of her bang(ed) head and the polka-dotty goodness of the longer-than-long lash.  A light dusting of color on the lid and a golden glossy pout finished the look.  Super duper pretty, no?

Now to number two.  The second look was all about the throwback to the classic-of-all-classic cosmetics look: the fabulously thick and fringe-y lined eye paired with the perfectly rubied and red lip.  We added the sparkly diamond stud for a little flashy fun to complement the just-right amount of shimmer on the lid and some rouge to the cheeks and called it done.

After seeing the totally dramatic and oh-so-dreamy effects a little extra lash love can make to any look,  I see no problem in adding just one more teeny tiny little step to my morning makeup routine by applying them, all the while conjuring up the next style situation a little feather or fringe fashion could call for ...
